Plug and play battery power? I'm tempted.
Fuse Energy have recently announced Jules, the UK's first plug-in solar and battery system, and I must admit, I'm tempted! I do plan to add solar panels to my home next year, but that's a lot of work and expense, but with Jules, I can pick up a plug-and-play system without going to much effort.

The thing that really makes me interested in Jules right now is that you can just buy the battery, and skip the solar panels (at least for now). Although admittely that's not as efficent as going for a solar + battery set up, it means that I can make use of a mult-rate tariff, charge the battery when it's cheap overnight, and use it to power my home during the day when we're boiling the kettle, watching TV, and using the washer and dryer.
For the battery alone, Fuse Energy are offering Jules for just £199 if I fix with them for five years. That does seem like a long time, and I can opt for a shorter or no fix if I choose to, but that does mean I will pay more for the battery upfront. That being said, I will always need an energy supplier and so far I'm happy with what Fuse Energy are offering.
In my opinion, this kind of technology can be a revolution for UK households, and if it's as good as it sounds, it could be a game changer when it comes to my home energy journey. For now, it's certainly something I'm going to be thinking about.
Have you thought about adding a plug-and-play battery and solar panels to your home? If so, let me know your thoughts, or even if you've already done this - I'd love to hear from you!
