Chris Talks Energy

I've switched to Fuse Energy

Fuse Energy have been on my radar for a while now. I'm an avid listener of The Rest Is Politics, hosted by Rory Stewart and Alastair Campbell, and Fuse is their sponsor. But it wasn't until one of my best friend moved into a home supplied by Fuse that I really started to pay attention.

Up until early October I was with Octopus Energy. They suited me well - a forward thinking energy company with a range of tariffs that, if you paid attention to your energy usage, could really benefit you. Some days I was even paid to use energy in my home!

However, those days of being paid for usage seemed now to be few and far between, and the daily standing charges and unit rates were really starting to creep up. So, after checking the Fuse Energy website, and using my friend's referral code, I found that the unit prices on an 18 month fix were well below the rates offered by both Octopus and the Ofgem Price Cap, and would also be far below the forthcoming January 2027 rise, which is expected to take average household bills to nearly £2,200 a year, so I started the switch over.

The process was painless, as you'd expect although often don't experience, and before I knew it, Fuse had connected to my smart meters and everything was up and running.

Now, I'm not your typical energy user, my bills are much higher than most, but the savings I'll be making with Fuse on a per unit basis should help to keep my bills in check over the Winter.

Have you heard of Fuse, and are you thinking of switching to a new provider soon? Let me know!
